WHAT: Lace up for a cause and help fuel the future of cancer care. Join us for the 5th Annual Friends 5K Run/Walk benefiting the Friends of the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute.
Since its inception, the Friends 5K has raised more than $1 million to support a variety of programs and initiatives that advance cancer care and improve the lives of patients and families served by the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute. Funds from the 2025 and 2026 events alone generated more than $500,000 for translational cancer research, helping accelerate discoveries from the laboratory to clinical trials and patient care in Delaware.
Proceeds from this year's event will continue to support groundbreaking bench-to-bedside research. The family-friendly event is open to the public, and participants of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to participate.

WHY: Every breakthrough in cancer treatment begins with an idea, but many promising discoveries require early-stage funding before they can advance to clinical trials and patient care.
Funds raised through the Friends 5K help bridge that gap by supporting translational cancer research, accelerating the journey from scientific discovery to treatments that can improve the lives of patients facing cancer. Participants are not only completing a race; they are helping advance research that will shape the future of cancer care for patients in Delaware and beyond.
The event also provides an opportunity for survivors, families, caregivers and supporters to honor loved ones affected by cancer while investing in future breakthroughs.
